Super Typhoon Bavi was about 1,430 kilometers southeast of Keelung, Taiwan, at 5 pm on July 8, with maximum sustained winds of 58 meters per second near its center, according to weather authorities.

The typhoon is forecast to bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to coastal Fujian province, prompting the closure of some scenic areas and the suspension of ferry services.

Authorities urged residents to stay alert for typhoon warnings and monitor the typhoon's path. Warning signals are issued in four levels, from lowest to highest: blue, yellow, orange, and red.

Residents were advised to secure doors and windows, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and take precautions against strong winds and heavy rainfall. People should stay away from glass doors and windows, unsafe buildings, temporary structures, billboards, towers, and large trees during the storm.

All water-related activities should be suspended, and vessels should return to port for shelter, while port facilities should be reinforced to prevent vessels from dragging anchor, running aground, or colliding.

People living in vulnerable housing, including old buildings, makeshift homes, and low-lying areas, should follow local arrangements and move to designated shelters or safe areas if needed.

Residents have also been advised to stock up on non-perishable food, drinking water, and essential medicines, as well as check the safety of gas and electrical systems.

Anyone trapped during the typhoon should call 119 for emergency assistance and wait for rescue.
