Fujian province and Argentina's Catamarca province held an economic and trade exchange meeting in Fuzhou on Aug 3, with about 50 officials and business representatives from sectors including agriculture, food, and mining attending.

Teresita Regalado, Catamarca's minister of Mining, said the province is a major mining region in Argentina with abundant reserves of copper, gold, lithium, and molybdenum. She expressed hopes of expanding cooperation with Fujian in areas including mineral exploration and development.

Luis Castro, Catamarca's minister of Productive Development, highlighted the province's industrial growth and called for greater cooperation with Fujian in industries such as wine and olive oil.

Mayors from Catamarca municipalities shared local development opportunities and cooperation needs based on their respective cities' strengths. Business representatives from the mining and food processing sectors also introduced their companies and expressed interest in expanding into the Chinese and Fujian markets.

Representatives from Fujian business groups and companies, including the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Fujian Sub-council and Zijin Mining Group, outlined the province's industrial development and expressed willingness to deepen cooperation with Catamarca in mining, trade, and food processing.
