Flight MF856 from Jakarta, Indonesia, landed at Fuzhou Changle International Airport on Nov 5.

Among its passengers was Alicia, one of the first international travelers to take advantage of the airport's new 24-hour direct transit policy, who said it was so convenient that she could go straight to the departure hall without going through border inspection.

The National Immigration Administration announced 10 new measures to support the expansion of opening-up and high-quality development of China on Nov 3, including increasing the number of ports where individuals eligible for the 24-hour direct transit may be exempted from immigration inspection procedures.

This policy has been implemented at 10 international airports since Nov 5, eliminating the need for passengers to collect checked luggage, recheck their bags, and pass through customs and immigration again.

Fuzhou Chanle International Airport has become the second airport in Fujian province to implement this policy after Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.

According to Wu Junsheng, head of the border inspection department at Fuzhou Changle International Airport Border Inspection Station, foreign travelers who have applied for the 24-hour direct transit but need to leave the airport's designated area may apply for a temporary entry permit.

Travelers should note that passports that are valid for less than three months, have Chinese visa refusal stamps, or have committed immigration violations within the past five years will not be eligible for temporary entry permits.

The airport currently operates 21 routes connecting 13 countries and regions with more than 1.32 million travelers passing through Fuzhou Changle International Airport from January to October, including 49,000 direct entries.
