On March 17, Governor Zhao Long met in Fuzhou with a delegation led by Tursunov Normat Tulkunovich, Governor of the Navoi Region of Uzbekistan. Vice Governor Wang Jinfu attended the meeting.
On behalf of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government, Zhao extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation and gave an overview of Fujian’s high-quality economic and social development. He noted that China and Uzbekistan are close and friendly neighbors. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, bilateral relations have entered a “golden era.” Guided by President Xi Jinping’s directives and the plans outlined at the just-concluded “two sessions,” Fujian is sticking to its development goals to ensure a strong start for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. Zhao emphasized that Fujian and Navoi, both key nodes for the Belt and Road Initiative, share strong economic complementarity and vast potential for cooperation. He expressed hope that both sides would work together to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen economic and trade ties, expand investment cooperation, strengthen partnership in areas such as people-to-people exchanges, education, and tourism, and contribute to the building of a more substantive and vibrant China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
Tursunov said that the Navoi Region highly values its partnership with Fujian. He expressed his hope to make the most of this visit to further enhance communication and coordination, deepen cooperation in areas such as trade, industrial parks, artificial intelligence, culture, and tourism. He welcomed more Fujian enterprises to invest and grow in Navoi, so as to better promote mutual development and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
