On November 16, Governor Zhao Long met in Fuzhou with guests attending the
China–ASEAN Week 2025. President Wu Hailong of the
China Public Diplomacy Association, Vice Governor Wang Jinfu, representatives from ASEAN countries, diplomatic envoys to China, and representatives of international organizations attended the meeting.
Zhao Long highlighted the deep traditional friendship, ever closer exchanges, and broad cooperation prospects between Fujian and ASEAN countries. He said, Fujian stands ready to work with ASEAN countries to implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative,
uphold openness, cooperation, and mutual benefit, seize the opportunities brought by the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 Upgrade Protocol, expand bilateral trade and two-way investment, deepen cooperation in areas such as culture and tourism, enhance people-to-people exchanges and friendly interactions, and contribute to the building of a closer China–ASEAN community with a shared future.
Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister of Ministry (2) of the President’s Office of Myanmar, and Chuon Chivin, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia, noted that ASEAN–China comprehensive strategic partnership has gained strong momentum, with deepening cooperation in various fields.
They hoped to take the opportunities presented by events such as China–ASEAN Week to expand cooperation with Fujian in areas including trade, investment, digital economy, culture, tourism, and education.
