The Third Overseas Chinese Talent Conference for Development kicked off on Dec 1 in Fuzhou, along with a series of events, including the "Overseas PhD Campus Tour".

More than 100 overseas PhD holders learned about local research strengths, reviewed talent recruitment policies, and explored opportunities for closer collaboration between academia and industry.

At Fuzhou University's Key Laboratory of Spatial Data Mining and Information Sharing of the Ministry of Education, faculty members highlighted several in-house research projects, including the CodeOne industrial control platform.

Hu Yu, a PhD graduate from Lomonosov Moscow State University, said that CodeOne's applications in the power sector align with her research on intelligent green grids and expressed interest in joining the university's research team.

Following the lab visit, Fuzhou University and Fujian Normal University held briefings on their talent recruitment policies. University representatives outlined their talent development and recruitment initiatives, along with support measures such as housing subsidies, research funding, and education resources for children — benefits that generated strong interest among participants.

"This visit has shown me how much Fuzhou values talent," said Ji Peng, a PhD from the National University of Singapore. He added that Fuzhou's robust research platforms and well-rounded support policies make it an attractive place to advance his career.
