The event features a series of activities and high-level thematic dialogues, including the ASEAN-China Youth Roundtable on Marine Cooperation, the ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Cooperation New Opportunities Matchmaking Conference and the ASEAN-China Media and Think Tank Tea Salon.

Fuzhou's role as a regional platform is continuing to expand. The city has already hosted the ASEAN-China Week several times and is home to the headquarters of the 21st-Century Maritime Cooperation Committee which now includes 77 cities and organizations from 29 countries across five continents — including 14 cities and organizations from ASEAN countries.

The city's cultural and tourism exchanges with ASEAN countries have grown deeper, from promotional events across various ASEAN cities to initiatives like the Maritime Silk Road International Cultural Tourism Festival.

Fuzhou is also expanding its network of friendship cities and province relationships, with Fujian province having established 24 friendship city relationships with ASEAN countries and events such as the Fuzhou International Friendship Cities Cultural Festival further reinforcing ties with ASEAN partners.
