The 7th East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forum kicked off on Nov 4 in Fuzhou, Fujian province. With the theme "Pragmatic Drive, Future Thrive", the two-day forum focused on advancing the consensus reached at the 20th East Asia Summit.

In his keynote speech at the opening ceremony, He Yang, deputy head of the National Energy Administration, highlighted the achievements of China–ASEAN cooperation in the clean energy sector over the years and proposed new initiatives to further advance regional collaboration.

During the forum, participants from energy authorities of China and ASEAN member countries, local governments, leading energy and power enterprises, financial institutions, and think tanks engaged in discussions.

Dato Azmi, deputy minister at the Prime Minister's Office (Energy) in Brunei Darussalam said that the forum provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, learning from each other, and working together to achieve our shared goals more efficiently.

Fujian's hosting of the 7th East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forum was no coincidence.

Since 2009, Fujian's liquefied natural gas project, a flagship of China–Indonesia energy cooperation, has delivered nearly 38 million metric tons of LNG worth over $ 14.6 billion.

Meanwhile, Fujian's cooperation with ASEAN countries on regional technology projects has continued to deepen.

Fujian enterprises such as CATL have advanced from single project delivery toward technological collaboration and industrial integration through diversified partnerships, working together with ASEAN countries to promote energy structure optimization and a green, low-carbon transition.
