A 17-member Fijian delegation led by Ro Teimumu Kepa, Paramount Chief of Rewa and Head of the Burebasaga Confederacy, visited Fuzhou, Xiamen and Ningde from July 20 to 23.

On July 22, Vice Governor Wang Jinfu met with the delegation in Fuzhou. Noting the longstanding friendship between Fujian and Fiji, Wang highlighted the fruitful exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in Juncao and poverty alleviation. He called on both sides to strengthen government exchanges, increase people-to-people visits, and expand practical cooperation in trade, culture, tourism, agriculture, fishery and poverty alleviation.

Ms Ro Teimumu Kepa said, Fujian’s economic and social progress has been an important source of inspiration for Fiji in shaking off poverty. She hoped to learn more about Fujian, and expand practical cooperation for win-win outcomes.

The itinerary of the delegation includes Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park, Kulangsu Island, Ningde Poverty Alleviation & Development Exhibition Hall, and Three Lanes and Seven Alleys.
