From March 16 to 20, Executive Vice Governor Guo Ningning led a delegation to the US to enhance business cooperation, sister-city friendship, and people-to-people exchanges.

The delegation met with officials of Hawaii, Oregon, Honolulu and Tacoma, and invited relevant authorities to attend trade shows and conferences held in Fujian including World Marine Equipment Conference (WMEC), China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Expo. In Los Angeles, Portland and Honolulu, meetings on economic and trade cooperation were hosted with a number of agreements inked on investment, trade and procurement.

The delegation also met with Lee Gardner, a Friend of Kuliang, and visited Lincoln High School in Tacoma as well as Fujianese associations and businesses. Young Americans were invited to attend the Bond with Kuliang: China-US Youth Week, an event to be held in Fuzhou later this year.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of China-US diplomatic relations, 40th anniversary of Fujian-Oregon sister state relationship, and 30th anniversary of Fuzhou–Tacoma sister city ties.
