The 2026 Dehua Porcelain Culture Week opened at the Dehua Convention and Exhibition Center in Dehua county, Fujian province, on Sept 19, showcasing new developments in the porcelain industry, new trends in artistic creation, and cross-sector integration.

At the opening ceremony, Dehua unveiled a development strategy for high-quality growth of its historic signature industry, with more than 3 billion yuan ($448.05 million) in planned investment across policies, platforms, and projects.

The strategy includes six support programs, with initial funding of 120 million yuan, covering efforts to raise its international profile, develop brands, support business growth, foster new quality productive forces, renew cultural heritage, and attract talent and population.

Six platforms, backed by a total investment of 3 billion yuan, will cover production services, quality testing, raw materials, e-commerce incubation, cross-border regulation, and industry-wide data.

Six key project types will focus on industrial parks, advanced ceramics, semiconductors, e-commerce, Fujian-Taiwan cooperation, and international cooperation. Six major cooperation projects were also launched.

Dehua currently hosts over 4,500 ceramic enterprises and over 100,000 industry workers. The output of its ceramic industry cluster exceeded 76 billion yuan in 2025. The county is home to the country's largest production and export base for ceramic crafts and its largest production base for ceramic tea sets and flower vessels, as well as the industry's only national industrial design research institute.
