Southeast Asian consular officials visit Ningde in Fujian

Consular officials from Thailand, the Philippines, and Singapore visited Fuding, a county-level city in Ningde, Fujian province, on July 14 and 15 to learn about its tourism resources and distinctive industries.

The delegation included Sasarak Sasivanij, consul-general of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xiamen; Winston Dean S Almeda, consul-general of the Philippine Consulate-General in Xiamen; and He Juntong, consul of Singapore's Consulate-General in Xiamen.

The delegation visited Taimu Mountain and local companies, including Liumiao White Tea, Fujian Minwei Industrial, and Eagle Cultural Creative, to see firsthand Fuding's efforts to develop tourism and specialty industries. Their visits focused on the preservation and branding of traditional Fuding white tea-making techniques, the development of a complete industrial chain for largemouth bass breeding and processing, and the integration of technology into cultural and creative product development.

The delegation praised Fuding's efforts to balance environmental protection with industrial growth and said they would use the resources of their consulates to facilitate business cooperation and help promote local products, including Tongjiang largemouth bass and Fuding white tea, in Southeast Asian markets.

The visit was part of an exchange program, following the first such visit to western Fujian in December 2024.
