Xiamen rolls out talent initiatives to attract global professionals

Xiamen in Fujian province launched its 2026 Talent Service Month on July 9, bringing together nearly 200 experts, overseas professionals, university representatives, and young entrepreneurs as the city steps up its efforts to attract global talent.

The month-long program features more than 40 activities, including a promotional video highlighting opportunities for young professionals in Xiamen. Among the initiatives unveiled during the program are projects focused on scientific cooperation, international exchanges, and medical talent development.

The Hong Kong Young Scientists Xiamen Technology Service Program will facilitate joint research and technology commercialization with leading laboratories at universities including the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Hong Kong, and the City University of Hong Kong. The city also introduced an international exchange program for young science and innovation leaders.

Xiamen rolled out a cross-Strait medical talent integration initiative, promoting cooperation between hospitals and training programs for young doctors. A national-level training camp for Taiwan medical professionals will be held in the city in August.

The city has been recognized as one of China's best cities for talent attraction for five consecutive years and the Talent Service Month has been held for seven years.
