The world's largest Hokkien-language music event, the 2025 World Hokkien Golden Melody Awards Ceremony, was held on Oct 25 at the Haicang Sports Center in Xiamen, Fujian province.
As one of the longest-running and most extensive Hokkien folk culture exchange events worldwide, the awards ceremony has become a vital platform for the creative transformation and innovative development of China's traditional culture.

Ke Xiping, member of the of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Xiamen Federation of Industry and Commerce, said that since its inception in 2006, the World Hokkien Golden Melody Awards have reached over 50 countries and regions, attracting more than 120,000 participants from both sides of the Taiwan Strait as well as Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
He emphasized the continued development of this cultural exchange platform, aiming to foster closer emotional bonds across the Strait, strengthen global Chinese cultural identity, and further contribute to the inheritance and promotion of China's cultural heritage.
Chen Fei, a cross-Strait goodwill ambassador and famous Hokkien-language singer, noted that Hokkien music embodies a cultural identity and emotional community that transcends geographical boundaries.

This year's awards saw Chen Siwei from Taiwan, Liao Yunyi from Malaysia, and Ji Liang from Indonesia winning the first, second, and third prizes, respectively, reflecting the international reach and enduring appeal of Hokkien music.
