The Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce and the Zhangzhou municipal government hosted a delegation of 40 representatives from leading Taiwan companies in the equipment manufacturing and healthcare sectors from April 1 to 2.

The two-day event focused on industrial matchmaking and field inspections to deepen cross-Strait economic integration and explore new development opportunities within the region.

During the proceedings, Cui Hua, a second-level inspector from the Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce, noted that the province's strategic pivot to new quality productive forces and high-quality development offers a special opportunity for investors from Taiwan to introduce advanced technologies and high-value projects to the local market.

Throughout the visit, municipal authorities introduced major investment projects, including the Fujian-Taiwan Precision Machinery Industrial Park and Yuanshan Plan. Discussions focused on project collaboration, industrial supply chains, and talent acquisition, with several Taiwan executives initiating further negotiations.

The delegation also inspected key sites such as the Zhangzhou City Museum, the Pien Tze Huang Museum, and the Fujian-Taiwan Precision Machinery Industrial Park to assess the local business climate.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Fujian led the Chinese mainland in both the number of newly established Taiwan-funded enterprises and the volume of utilized Taiwan capital, reflecting a shift from basic investment toward more comprehensive industrial integration.
